“ MARCH TEATIME "

"The March do blow and we shall have snow" ...  and four Birthdays this month ... It's time to shovel the walks, get to    wearing’ the Green ... and start partying.

We’re on our third snow storm in seven days.
This is the overhang on the front porch.

Can you believe that, the snow is up to the rooftops on many of our neighbours houses.

Alternatively, I can still appreciate the “ BEAUTY " of Winter which encourages us all to enjoy a lovely, warm cup of tea .

My husband always brings me little gifts when he travels... He knows what I like !!!!

Everything tea ... Isn’t this a cute little tea strainer!!!!
Today is the first time that I’m using and sharing it with you, my dear friends. I used a 1/4 tsp times three to fill the vessel ... so, I guess, that makes, at least 5- 6 cups of delicious tea, depending on the size of your teacup.

I DO HOPE THAT YOUR COMING TO OVER LADIES !!!!

Loose leafed "Earl Grey" is the pick of the day ... Hey Hey !!! Please Join me!!!!

OMG ... I forgot to tell you about my $6.00 purchase at Value Village. " TAH DAH"... I call this teapot  “Penelope" for her plain colors and winsome design .

Small, cute and PERKY .... That sturdy little handle really does make it easy for pouring.
Good things do come in small packages.

I also frequent the Medical Hospice Store, buying clip earrings for my mother, who is in the Veteran's Nursing Home. Most  recently, I found  this  ‘darling’ little teaset ... hanging amongst the bigger, bully cup girls ... WELL ... I just snapped her up for
$ 3.00 and said “ nah, nah, nah" to those Bully Babe Teacups because online she is a collector's item priced at $56.00.
Too much fun !!!

She’s a dainty little Royal Winton/Grimwades ( 1886-1900 )  that hums with humility and Sweet Peas ... I’ve tried and tried to grow Sweet Peas ... but they do need the proper location. This year I’m determined ... to grow these precious  flowers. Does anyone have planting advice?
Anyways  ...  How is it that a cup and saucer can  inspire a person’s  Springtime imagination. ( SIGH)

I just want to “ HUG” and "SNIFF"the floral pattern that cascade throughout this porcelain ( Ha ha) ... It’s one of my favourites.
Come on Ladies, let’s get to brewing ... Are you ready for a Earl Grey Tea Latte?
All we need is a kettle and maybe a blender to make a surprisingly delicious latte.
It only has a few ingredients.

                                                           Here is  “MY” recipe
                                                     #1

Fill your pot with boiling water

Two bags or 3 tsps of Earl Grey Tea
                                          Steep for 6 minutes

                                                  "  SECRET INGREDIENT "

ADD... 1/2 tsps  of  lavender blossoms

( It truly makes ALL the difference)
                                             STRAIN the tea
                                                   Add milk

                                                                  ENJOY !!!
However, you may be a “ Gourmet Gypsy" at heart and          want a sweeter, more diversified blend of flavours in your tea.

                                                                 #2
                                                “ OPTIONAL RECIPE"

Pour all the( above) tea recipe into a blender

Add one/two  cups of Milk/creme/almond milk or coconut milk
                                   3 tsps Cocoa powder
                                   2 tbsp Maple Syrup/ honey
                                   1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tiny pinch of sea salt

                                              M-M-M-M-
Just right on a wintry day .

WISHING YOU ALL
A
“ HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY"

Oh the sweet pea cup and saucer! Ohhhhh soooooo precious.

Oh the snow! Oh mercy no!!! We had snow again, but we don't have any where as much as you do.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too! It is on Sat. and that is the New Moon. Mmmmmm, not a night to go very far. ,-))))) Too many "overly happy" people on the road. Plus the New Moon effects. If you go in for such. ,-)

Nope, a night to stay in and have one's own Celebration, right there. :-) 'Tis my view.

Tea and sweet peas are some of my favorite things. I always plant my seeds around St. Paddy's day but then again here in San Francisco we are not neck deep in snow. When the time is right for you, don't forget to soak your seeds for a few days and nick their outer coating before you plant them in good fertilized soil - chicken manure is the best.

Your tea cup set is a stunner! I have one very similar. I also adore these cups and saucers!
Enjoy my dear!

Such pretty china, perfect for a restorative cup of tea. The cup that cheers, and after all that snowfall I imagine you need some cheering, though my grandchildren would be green with envy if I showed them your photographs.
Sweetpeas are wonderful, as long as they come with their heavenly scent, I feel cheated otherwise. What a beautiful post.

Oh my - such sweetness and happiness. Love the little teapot and that teacup is a treasure for sure. Wouldn't it be fun to have a whole tea set with sweet peas? I've grown sweetpeas some years - and some years I've not - depending mostly on how the sweetpeas feel about growing I suppose. Good luck - and give them lots of warmth I think.

What a lovely post! I love all of your tea things, and also that darling little figure all decked out in green. I seldom shop at thrift stores, but having seen your gorgeous finds, I think I need to change that… Now!

Such a lovely little tea with the hope of spring, despite the snow! Love your darling 'finds' - you really 'lucked-out' and why not, it is the the luck of the Irish this time of year! I do love your pretty Irish lass, too. The tea recipes sound wonderful. Sweet Peas are persnickety I've tried pre-sprouting them in damp paper towels slipped into a zip-loc bag, then planting them in peat pots and setting them out early in the season - while it is still cool. They love full sunshine, but will fade out once the hot summer comes. Mice and birds love the seeds so this way prevents them having a little feast. I hope you get some warmer weather soon, although it is very pretty. xx Karen

Jean | DelightfulRepast.com said...

Zaa, I love Twinings Earl Grey tea AND sweet peas. That was quite a find! The only way I know of to succeed with sweet peas is to plant the seeds directly in the ground. They don't transplant well. Just put your stick/stake/pole in your chosen spot and surround it with seeds. *After* the weather warms up, of course.

Wow! That is alot of snow. We've been getting a little lately. You won't hear me complain either. We've hardly had a winter and our summer gardens will thank us later. What a steal on that darling teacup and saucer. I'm not sure if this will make a difference, but I soak my sweet pea seeds overnight before planting them. It helps them to sprout sooner. I usually plant them in March, but I once planted them in May and they were blooming for my oldest daughters wedding. Oh, and what a sweet husband!
hugs,
Jann

Dear Zaa:
What wonderful new tea items. Your teakettle handle on a teapot is great and makes it so easy to lift. I loved your sweet pea chintz teacup and saucer too. That's a real beauty and very desirable in collecting. I tried growing sweet peas in Colorado to no avail as summer ended when they were just getting started. I need to try them here. I hope you succeed. Determination seems to help a lot! Thanks for sharing.

Liked the advice of using a 1/4 tsp measurement for the tea strainers. I'm going to try that. Cute little teapot and aren't you lucky on that tea cup find!
